Extension of ESA certifications until 2021

Due to the impossibility of taking the face-to-face courses required by the renewal of the certifications of the European Space Agency (ESA), they have been extended, in principle, for 6 months. This period  depends on the evolution of the Covid-19. The company that certifies ICM will confirm when the certification is resumed.

The ESA certifications, which ICM has had at the Aranjuez factory since 2009, are essential to manufacture the custom aerospace wire harness that we produce. The extension is applicable to the ECSS-Q-ST-70-26C, ECSS-Q-ST-70-08C and ECSS-Q-ST-70-38C certifications, which refer to stapling electrical connections, welding electrical connections and surface mount and mixed welding, respectively, of high reliability in all three cases. And its validity is two years.

Once the extension has expired, the renewal process will be the same as that established before it, that is, corresponding to training and passing a vision medical examination.

The company that manages the certifications has established a period of five days to teach the certification and recertification courses. These are face-to-face. That is why they have been postponed due to the current difficulty caused by the pandemic.
